Applicants seeking graduate admission must have a bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree with an acceptable grade point average from a college or university accredited by an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; a major in business is not required. The admission decision is based upon assessment of the applicant’s ability for successful graduate study.
Mercer’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business is Test Optional. This admission policy allows graduate applicants to apply to Mercer’s School of Business and be considered for admission without submitting GMAT or GRE test scores. Students may apply without test scores and will submit a statement of purpose on their application. To help you understand our Test Optional policy, we have included some information below.
What does it mean to be Test Optional? All graduate School of Business applicants have the option of including GMAT or GRE test scores in their application for admission. If you apply as a Test Optional candidate for admission, we will not review your GMAT or GRE scores even if you send them to us, and all Test Optional applicants will submit a statement of purpose on their application.
The statement of purpose is designed to provide our admissions team with insight into who you are as an individual and leader. In 500 words or less, tell us about yourself and why you chose Mercer’s School of Business and your program of study. For example, consider including the answers to:
If you apply as Test Optional and later decide you would like to have GMAT or GRE scores considered, you can request to have your testing status changed. Just contact our admissions team, and this update can be made at any point before your application is complete. Once an application file is completed, students cannot change their testing status.
If you are concerned about whether or not your test scores will hurt your application, ask our admissions team for advice. Ultimately, it is your choice whether or not to include test scores in your application, but we want to help you make that decision however we can.
